Proposal [ii]- Threshold Perspective [ii]

-Manor Street Community Kitchen-

Manor Street Community Kitchen aims to create what Ilse Crawford described when reflecting on The Refettorio Felix community kitchen refurbishment: A space of  “universal pleasure that is often missing from social projects” (Morby, 2017). This space of common ground aims to de-institutionalise methods of alleviating food poverty, through respectful and accessible design. By allowing the materiality and layout of the space to take on a subservient sensorial role, the conversations that take place within can be allowed to define place and provide subconscious healing through shared experience and achievements.
